Cameron Christiansen Family News Letter

Cameron has had a successful second year in Grad school. He has had the opportunity to work on gathering data from cemetery headstones through computer vision for his thesis. He has learned much in programing and research that will help him in his career. He enjoys working with the sixteen through eighteen year old young men at church. He enjoyed a vacation in Yellowstone this summer with his family. He is a proud and loved daddy by two soon to be three. Our third baby is due April 1st. Cameron loves to go on outings with his kids and family. He hopes to graduate with his Masters Degree in Computer science in April and start bringing home the bacon.

Janell has enjoyed living in Provo closer to family. She enjoys spending time with Lydia and Ryan visiting family and friends. She has enjoyed having once a month game nights with couples at church. Janell loves to sew and make crafts for family and friends. She has enjoyed events with Cameron on campus. She has been grateful for all the help that family and friends gave while she was in her first trimester of her pregnancy. She is doing well and excited for another baby girl due on April Fools day. Janell has found a new love and skill in cooking delicious new recipes for family and friends.

Lydia (3) is a happy chatting girl. She loves to sing and dance. Her favorite thing to do is take care of baby dolls. She has a new love for Rapunzel and Eugene from “Tangled” and imagines often about “the lost princess”. Lydia loves playing with cousins and friends. She enjoys reading, watching “Little Einsteins,” cooking, nursery, singing Primary songs, painting her fingernails, and visiting her Grandparents that live in Orem, Utah and Bern, Idaho. Her favorite food is yogurt. Her favorite color is pink. She is a very grateful child and says thank you for many little things in her day, helping her family remember what is most important in life.

Ryan (18 months) is a little engineer. He loves to see the functionality of everything. We have had to child proof many more things and have a listening ear for water, doors, and cupboards. He is a kind brother who loves to laugh with his sister, Lydia. He gives many hugs throughout the day. His favorite food is bread. He would run around in his diaper all day long if it were possible. He loves to be outside and explore every rock and dirt patch. Ryan loves being close to family and playing with them. He loves to read books, play ball, dance, wrestle, tickle others, and share his food.

Untangle Rapunzel's hair....but watch out for grandpa's neck....

Rapunzel has enough hair for several people...........Uncles, Grandma, and cousin. Lydia has been loving Tangled..........she asked for a Eugene Birthday party. A Eugene birthday cake.....She loved the tower and Tangled games. I made a purple and yellower flower banner, lanterns, and a feed the apple to Max game. It was so fun to have a family party. We have loved being close to family!

Our Family Hike.

Wow life has been a little busy since I last posted. Since I have last posted we have had renters for our house in AR. December of 2010 we moved into our basement apartment with the best land lords ever! They have three children that Lydia just loves to play with. Cameron has been very busy in school. He has loved learning and improving in his programming skills. We have loved being close to temples, family, and making good friends.

We are expecting baby number 3! We are excited for our new addition and will find out what gender our baby is in November. I am so grateful for family and friends who served and helped out during the rough start of the pregnancy. I am feeling much better and my energy is returning. Cam is starting to interview for jobs! Exciting but still a mystery on where we are going when we graduate. He should be done with school and the THESIS in April.

We have enjoyed family outings, birthdays, and fun dates the last couple of months. I will have a lot of catching up to do with posts and pictures, but here is a start.

i got a little bug in me and wanted to make a Halloween costume similar to the oh so cute pottery barns one. I had left over felt and material from Lydia's card table house and I decided to go for it. It was so fun to make. I have been working on Lydia's birthday present This last month. I still haven't finished the sides. My kids were both sick the week of her birthday and I got sick too. So this week I will sew the sides together. It was such a fun project to do for her!

Ryan is getting so big and so happy! He is amazing! This is a picture of the Jenny's sewing room before and after. It is the room we are staying. It was a fun and very buy project. Lydia has fallen asleep in some unusual places. Like the changing table, the closet, under her bed, under her dresser. Sometimes I find her in interesting places when I go to check on her at nap time.

My babies are growing up so fast! We are here a week and a half and then we move to Utah. We have been planning on going to school for the last two years.......and it is finally here. Although my house in full of boxes it still fills like a dream. This Friday and Saturday we are have a mega garage sale. Don't you wish you were here. We are down sizing to fit into two bedrooms. It has been an adventure. I know that we have a Heavenly Father who is aware of our needs. When we are obedient he blesses us with peace, and joy that fills our cup to overflowing. We really are Stewarts over the things he has given us. We have so much, and He only asks us to use it to bless the lives of others.

3 wonderful years with Cameron! We went on a 7 mile bike ride around Pea Ridge battle field. A lot has happened since then. Two kids, Arkansas, Walmart land, we had seen places, and now are going to Graduate school! I love you Cameron! Here are more pictures from our adventures. Lydia thought the goat bottle was for her, and was so traumatized when her daddy was feeding it to the goat...how rude. In the gift shop they were selling shirts that said, "I survived feeding the goats." So it was known for being a little rough........Cameron had goat poop all over his shorts from them jumping up on him. What an adventure! It was a good vacation! At the zoo they had the coolest penguin exhibit! It was in a cave, and you were so close to them. They were so neat to watch. They talked to one another, swam, and hopped in and out of the water. It was so cool. They are so beautiful! I loved hearing them call back and forth to each other!

Cameron used his 2nd week of paternity week late in July. We went to St. Louis, MO. It was a fun vacation. We went to Grants farm, The zoo and the science museum. It was a little warm...but we had fun. The water picture is of Lydia is touching sting rays...she loved it! We are moving in three weeks. Crazy! huh! See ya'll soon!

Lydia loves to love on her brother with "baby" always there! (Her doll) Ryan was blessed in his Daddy's baby blessing outfit. Believe it or not Cameron was once that tiny. Don't you love his little swimming trunks?! Lydia is an organizer! She organizes bottles, lotion, diapers, lids, cans......pasta! I had to take a picture of how she is so focused when she is "organizing!."

Music has a big part in a child's life! In my wolrk with children they always talk about singing with children and how it helps them to learn. I have enjoyed singing primary songs with her since she was a baby. It has always calmed her. Lately we have found out how many songs she knows by stopping to let her fill in the blank....or sentence. (love at home, I like to look for rainbows, keep the commandments.......) The last two days she has been walking around the house singing I am a child of God. It is so cute. If you listen she burps, and Cameron starts laughing. Today at family prayer she decided to say her own prayer. "Dear Heavenly Father, thank thee for nummies, in the name of Jesus Christ Amen." Nummies are Gummy fruit snacks. It is a testimony to me that we did come from Heaven with a plan and children remember those feelings of wanting to learn and when we teach them gospel truths from when they are infants they remember and want to learn more. From the General conference issue it was said that we need to rekindle in them the knowledge of who they already are, and what they already know. They are strong spirits that are ready to build the kingdom.

Lydia loves to love her brother. Before he was born I bought her a baby brother baby doll. And I am so glad I did. Every time I need to change or feed him she'll ask, "Where did the baby go." Asking for her baby doll to take care of. Her doll gets put on the changing table, in the swing, car seat, blanket, on my shoulder, wherever Ryan is. She is also taking care of her baby. It is a way she expresses herself and I am glad she has that instead of feeling left out.

Here are some more of the two of them. I think they have Cameron's eyes, but are very unique in there looks. So to answer your questions about 2 babies. I am more busy. But they are sweet. I have to watch Lydia with him, she likes to help. So I need to make sure she isn't hugging him too much, or sitting on him, or thinking he needs a blanket on his head. She is really sweet with him, if he is crying, "It's ok Rydan." And she pats his tummy, or holds his hand. So cute. Of course there are those moments when they are both having melt downs, and I have to take things one at a time, and not stress out. No matter what though it isn't as tough as times at the child care center. ;-) But that was a good experience for me that if I remember things I learned then it will take off a lot of stress. Lately I have thought a lot about the responsibility a mother has to teach her children and how that will effect who they will become. It is humbling and sometimes a little overwhelming. I have seen Lydia copying a lot of things that I do. I hope that I can teach them how to be good, and kind. Which means I need to communicate that with my words and my actions.

Ryan was born Sunday June 6th at 9:02 am. And he is beautiful! We barely made it there. I woke up with labor pains at 3:30 am, and labored at home until 8:30. My contractions were hard and really close. We got to the hospital and at the check-in window my water broke. And he was crowning. Cameron got me a wheel chair and we barley made it into the room. Cameron delivered our baby while two nurses were getting things ready. It was such a rush!! He weighed 8 pounds 1.6 ounces. 20 inches long...and so cute! We love him. He is snugly and so sweet!

Cameron made a wonderful Venezuelan dinner for date night! We even salsa danced! The drink was a mango drink! So yummy! The meal was called pabello'n . It was great...a little different. But when you mixed it together it was tasty. The arepa is the bread on the smaller plate. So three weeks left until our little man is due!! I am getting so anxious....cleaning the car, closest, his bassinet is now up! Clothes ready in his drawer. Saturday I bought to huge boxes of diapers. I was cruising a long just carrying them. Which must have been so funny to see. A lady started to laugh and asked if I was getting ready? When I told Cameron about it we both laughed......nesty pregnant lady cruising with huge boxes of diapers in Walmart! What a sight!

Since I had been so neutral on Lydia's baby room I think that I have gone all out on assesoriezing for her toddler years!I have all of this cloth from her quilt...why not use it? It has been really fun for me to be creative and create! here are her pillows and some wall hangings I made. I have a few more wall hangings to finish that are quilted! For date night we had a picnic by a cute stream and then hiked some bike trails! The weather is so nice...I think we will enjoy a few more dates like this before baby brother comes!!

Cameron enjoyed his Easter bunny surprise! He brought me home a chocolate Easter egg from his sister who lives in Germany. Inside was a toy! Yummy chocolate! Lydia loved her "CANDYY!!" Smoothie jelly beans. My friend's daughter turned 2 and had a birthday party! It was so cute! A tu tu party. We all made cute tu tus for our girls!!

Lydia is saying "Bless you!" When daddy fake sneezes! It is so cute! So it is Spring now in Bentonville!We had 70 degree weather on Friday and spent several hours at the park. The Saturday night it dumped all this white stuff on us! It is pretty. Cameron was going to early morning meetings for Church and slid off the road. Good thing for kind people, that stopped and helped him back on. Church was canceled today. I have been working on Lydia's toddler quilt set. It has been a lot of fun and a lot of work. My tension was off on my sewing machine on a couple of rows....which is so discouraging to have to pick out. I decided to take a picture and enjoy how far that I have gotten instead of feeling like a failure. I am going to make to cute owl fluffs to go with it, and some cute wall hangings. I hope to get it all done before baby brother comes. I have to work on it in small chunks of time. My baby is growing, and so am I! I am so excited to meet him!!

So it is Official Cameron is going to Graduate school this Fall. He was accepted to BYU and is waiting to hear from UOU to decide which school to go to. We put our house up for sale last week. We will be back West either when the house sells or the end of August!! This is a picture of Lydia's first hair cut I gave her. It is a little shorted than I planned, but I wanted to even the growth out. It looks more full to me with it cut even. We had a fun Relief Society craft day and I made this cute sign for our room!

We are enjoying our wood burning stove! It is so toasty and warm!! My little baby is a big girl now. She loves her dad and to wrestle with him!For Christmas I got a sewing machine. It has been fun for to to start some little projects. I made Lydia a quilt. She went with me and picked out her colors. She really did, she would giggle and grab at the fabric that she liked. I finished her curtains for her room finally! I made the valence and flowers on the rod.

Here is the 20 week 3d picture of our little man. My placenta is the large mass surrounding him. We laugh about how he is giving a thumbs up to his dad! "Yeah I am a boy! Everything is good in here!" I am doing well. So well in fact sometimes I go a little harder than I should and then I get sick again. I love this part of my pregnancy when my energy is high, and baby is moving!! Boy, oh boy, it is hard to decided on a boy name. We have our list, but time will tell what we will name him.

Our first real Christmas Tree! We have had three Christmas' together and this is our first big tree (Our tree was a 2 ft. tree with tiny lights)....after Christmas I bought a tree and had to put it up! Here is my growing belly.

We had a great Christmas in UT. Cameron's parents brought back gifts from their mission in Nepal. Here is a picture of the men wearing Nepalese hats.

In December I was able to help out the Ozark Nativity. It was amazing to help out with. People in our stake bring their Nativities from all around the world and we set them up on tables. They then have a live Nativity that goes on. It is an amazing event. Last year Cameron, Lydia and I were Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. It is really an event that should take place all over the world. The room has a very powerful spirit there. They have really soft music playing and then a narration that the live people act to. It is a beautiful, holy, sight!!

Thanks Giving weekend we decided to visit Branson at Silver Dollar City. It was a fun day. They have a really nice theater that did a marvelous "Dickens Christmas Carol." They have over 4 million lights in their very cute old village park. We loved the Christmas parade. And as Lydia would say, "Ho, Ho, Ho." For Santa.

In Tulsa, OK they have a great zoo! It is really open and you see the animals really well. I loved the chimpanzees! They are the cutest little families! I just loved all the animals and was amazed to watch them move and think about their creation.

For date night we went to the cemetery where Sam Walton is buried. (He is the starter of Walmart) We had a name hunt. We saw some old graves from the 1600's there. It was really good to get a perspective on life again. It really is short and what matters the most is living a good life and helping your family come back home to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Since she was a newborn the song Old McDonald has always had a calming affect on her. She would always just stop crying and listen to it. Now when you ask her "on his farm he had a;......." she will answer with an animal. She knows dog, cat, and cow. When you say the sounds for sheep, chickens, and horse she will copy you. Her other words are book, tongue, ball, bottle, mom, dad, all done. But as you can imagine some are really close and others are almost all the way pronounced. It is so fun hearing her talk!!

I have been loving to make bows for gifts and for Lydia! I wanted to show how to do them in case anyone wanted to know how easy and fun it is. It is great to have a bow party. Several people bring flowers from the dollar store and take them apart. To hold them together using any size of brad. Then layer and make your own styles large or small. For the centers buttons, jewels, or even mix matching centers to make a fun flower bow. I also like to make ribbon bows. You can look up a lot of fun instructions on the internet.

Daddy turned 26 on Sunday!It was a great day. He had a lot of great support come and see him for cake and ice-cream. The only regret I have as being a hostess was I forgot to take pictures. I love walmarts Associate store. They have a lot of great bargins....so I do have to be careful that I don't buy everything. For Halloween I got her a little bug costume there. It will fit larger sizes, too. I tried it on her to see how it fit...and was laughing so hard at my "little lady bug."

My very sweet husband bought me tickets to go to UT and ID for a weekend and a half. I was able to go and see my cousin's wedding, my brother graduate college, and just have a wonderful western summer vacation!! I loved seeing family and some great friends!!!

Monday was our 2 year anniversary!! We actually calibrated it on Saturday. We went on a canoeing trip. Then we went out to a movie and Chinese dinner. It was a baffae. That was fun trying all the different foods. We have learned a lot in the past two years together and have much more to learn..........I love you sweetie!

We went to Branson Missouri. It is a big tourist town. They have a huge outlet mall. We went shopping!! And found some very good deals there. We then went to Riply's believe it or not museum. It was very interesting. We saw art work of unusual design. We had a great trip. The fourth we were able to meet up with old friends from our last ward and watch the fireworks from Memorial park.

We went mountain biking on our first payed baby sitting date. Wow..I feel old to be getting a baby sitter. It was a lot of fun. We went on the easiest trail, which was still intense for me. My bike is a little old. But it was beautiful and fun going through the trees. I can't believe some of the paths that have ramps made out of tree logs. There are some professionals that go there!!

This is Thorn Crown Chapel. It is made of GLASS and is located 40 feet into the woods. They also play hymns. They have visitors from all over come and visit and sit in the chapel to ponder Christ role in our lives.

This is an old time Bank that we visited. Everything inside it worked from the old time telephones, to the safes.

We went on a train ride. In the train station area they also had old trains you could climb into. The train we road on had a beautiful chime on it like an organ.

This last picture is of the Christ of the Ozarks. It is 7 stories high on a high hill where they play hymns. They have it by a stadium they use of the Christian play "the Passion" . It amazes me the love I have seen in the South for Christ.

We went to Tourpintine Creek Wild Cat refuge. It is a place for over 100 large cats that needed a home. We were there during feeding time. Thanks to Tyson chicken they ate well. They were load. They had three lions who would "carol" which was really loud roaring.

We went to Eureka Springs. It is small town that was built on the side of a mountain. They have kept up the buildings and homes. They also have a lot of rock stairs and rock gardens on the side of the mountain. It was beautiful and an adventure seeing what we would find next. We stayed at a cute bed and breakfast home.

We had our summer "Stay-cation" We visited sites within the are. One night we went bowling. Cameron is bowling one-legged. We had silly rules using Uno cards. We visited the battle field in Fayetteville, AR. They had small buildings, walking trails, and a driving tour.

We were playing peek-a-boo. I would pop up from behind the couch and she would just die laughing. It was so much fun! Her laughter brings me so much joy!

For date night we made Tye-dye shirts. It was fun to mix colors and remember past dying experiences!

My first real "Mother's Day". It was great. Cam was so sweet to me. He made me breakfast, lunch, and Dinner. He and our sweet girl brought me roses. ;-) I felt very pampered! It was great!

This is a slide show of our house and it's makeover job. We spent about five months painting everyday after work and most Saturdays. It is fun to see it all put together. It feels like ours since we put into it sweat equity. We have felt overly blessed!!!

For FHE night we played scripture Charades and made home made play dough.
Can you guess what they are of? For date night we made sock puppets then we had to guess what person or character they were.

She is such a messy eater! I decided to let her eat in her diaper and then put her in her p.j's. She is enjoying her green beans with daddy! This is the nice high chair that Sam's mom at my work gave us.
It is a classy stylish chair!

She is growing so fast! She is almost as long as I am! It snowed today. I am looking forward to a spring and summer that stays. I love going on walks with her in the warm sunshine. Bentonville has some beautiful areas to walk in.

I have never been a bow maker before! I tried following some instructions on line! It is so easy! I made this little bow! Those cheeks are so kissable!

We watched Chronicles Prince caspian in our home made blanket tent.

Cameron made me a new diamond ring.

Daddy was proud to bless his little girl. It was amazing to be the ones with the cute little newborn who was blessed. "Dressed in white.....do you have the eyes to see what heaven sees in you.
